In 2013 the College of Yena Gomba, one of the most important preservation centres of Tibetan culture, located in the Sichuan Province asked ASIA for help.
Preserving the Tibetan culture is one of our main aims, so we intervened in 2014 with the help of the Fundacion Almayuda to guarantee access to education for the 58 students of the school. We built a 220 square metres school made of wood, earth and stones, following the traditional Tibetan style.
The school consists of five rooms; three classrooms, one room for the teachers to use as an office and a bathroom. Besides, desks, carpets for the children to sit, blackboards, stoves, books, notebooks, pencils and office furniture for the teachers’ room were provided.
