In the slums of Kathmandu (in Bhuikhel and Jawalakhel), shantytowns where the houses were made of metal sheets and cardboards, live children from very poor families. Due to the earthquake, these children have lost what little they had, but above all, they have lost one or both parents.
Some of these children aged between 5 and 14 live with relatives, friends or in orphanages. However, they do not receive any sort of economic support.
ASIA, together with the local Association Guthi, supplied 202 children with clothes and school uniforms, teaching materials (books, notebooks, pencils) and assured the children’s right to education by paying their school fees.
