DRAWINGS OF CHILDREN FROM MANSAROVAR’S SCHOOL
At home and without going to school like their Italian peers and those of other countries in the world. The Covid-19 emergency also affected Nepal and the 500 children of the Manasarovar school in Katmandu, who were forced home by the lockdown taken since the end of March across the country.
ASIA has supported the Manasarovar school since 1999, ensuring, thanks to the project of long distance sponsorships, educational material, food and medical visits to the children who are welcomed and who belong to the poorest families of the Tibetan refugee community, very numerous in the Boudhanath district. , where the school is located. Here the young Tibetan generations have the opportunity to receive basic education while keeping their cultural roots alive.
In all these years, many supporters have gone to visit the school and meet the children, creating a very strong and lasting relationship over the years, made up of exchanges of letters, photographs and drawings.
Currently, the emergency condition is growing and increasingly alarming due to the conditions imposed by the health crisis. Most of the parents of these children live with what they earn day by day with occasional jobs; but now the health emergency has amplified the difficulties of an already impoverished community. Without work and other financial support, the difficulties are increasingly evident for the families of the children of the school in Manasarovar, poverty is rapidly increasing and the conditions of support for the children and the community are not guaranteed.
To date, we understand that all children are safe and healthy, but the emergency is underway. With the project of long distance sponsorships we will try in every way to limit the drastic economic consequences that there will be for these families.
This is why your help at this moment is even more precious. Start your Long Distance Sponsorhip>>
